Why Do The Ants In My Garden Need Training?

I am an avid watcher of wildlife documentaries and whenever I have watched one about Ants they are portrayed as being well organized and working together as a team with leaders, workers and guards.

Are they trained especially for the cameras?

Because when I watch the ants that share my garden with me (sad, but yes I do watch them) they appear to be running around with no other purpose than to go around in circles bumping into each other! Maybe I have a sub-intelligent ant colony or perhaps they need a course in ant management.

Does anyone know of an ant trainer? I have checked my Yellow Pages and there isn’t one locally.

Now, there’s a niche market thats wide open, I’m off to do some research.

How to Build Your Own Web Site Quckly & Easily

One of the main problems I had when I first entered the world of Internet Marketing was how to build my own web site quickly and easily, a problem I suspect shared by many of you.

Fortunately a good friend of mine introduced me to XSitePro an affordable web site building software and it was great. Remembering that my skills consisted of (and still do) being able to write a word document and highlight, copy and paste I reckon that I produced some pretty good sites.

The good news is that XSitePro has now been upgraded to version 2 which is awesome, a word I don’t use lightly, and is now on general release to you. My own site is XSitePro produced and although there is still a bit of tinkering to do to get it perfect it is 100% better than I ever could have produced with version 1.

Why Do Sparrows Tell The Pigeons There’s Food On The Table?

This strange event happens several times a day in my garden, From indoors I can hear the sparrows shouting and flapping about telling me to replenish the food supply.

So, I stop whatever I am doing and obediently oblige them. Then what happens……

The sparrows ignore the feast and squawk and holler even more telling every other bird within a 10 miles radius there’s free grub available in the Tallamy garden – “Come and Get It”

Of course the first on the scene are the food guzzling machines, the pigeons and within minutes the table is bare apart from a few scraps in table top crevices that the pigeons beaks can’t root out. These it seems are the bits the sparrows prefer for as soon as the pigeons have finished gorging themselves they jump onto the table and peck, peck, peck away.

Maybe it’s a protection racket I don’t know, in fact I can’t get to grips with why the sparrows don’t keep their beaks shut, have a good feed and when they have finished, then call the pigeons. Perhaps this is where the saying “Bird Brained” comes from – what do you reckon?

Oh No!

How To Win Wimbledon With Your Head!

I have been having a lazy afternoon, working (not too hard) on my laptop whilst watching tennis on the television. It’s early in the rounds at the moment so some of the top seeds are having to play against guys much lower in the rankings, and some of the matches have been pretty one sided.

The thing that struck me and apparently the commentators noticed as well was that it wasn’t so much raw talent that was the difference between the top and lower seeds but their mental attitude, what was going in in their heads.

When you think about it, it is only natural. If you have the mind set that you are already a winner, that you are better than the guy you are playing and you are confident that every serve will be an ace and every passing shot a winner the odds on you beating the opponent who thinks he isn’t good enough, is lucky to be there, his serve is weak and his backhand lousy, oh and by the way he is feeling a bit under the weather as well is darn nigh guaranteed.

So I reckon the winner of the Wimbledon tennis tournament in a couple of weeks time will certainly do it with their heads!

This mind set or attitude plays the same role in all of our lives not just tennis. Think of all the successful people you know, what are they like, how do they behave, do they believe in themselves? I bet they are not like the tennis player with the weak serve are they, of course not.

Being a positive person, positive in everything you do will make you a winner. Even in a strange or new situation if you let the negatives take over you are lost before you start, but by keeping your mind focused on the job or task ahead you will eventually overcome any fear you may have had, come through it and will never be afraid of that situation again.

Very simplistic I know and there will always be some challenges that will take time to overcome, but you will, and who knows I might see you picking up the tennis trophy at Wimbledon on day!
