Pilgrimage Of Life

Everyone should go on a pilgrimage of life, a time set aside to find or rediscover the peace and harmony within yourself and the wonderful connection we all have with our Earthly environment – Nature and Mother Earth.

To me there is nothing more splendid than sitting on a cliff top and feeling the wind on my face, listening to the roar and hiss of the huge breakers crashing against the rocks below me and then receding back out into the wilderness of the ocean; the cry of the gulls cart-wheeling across the sky and the feeling of warmth in my soul and the sense of the powerful connection with everything that is.

The peace and harmony obtained by having just a few hours of solitude is the gift of Nature, the best tonic you can take for mental and physical healing and it’s Free for you to take anytime you wish, No Prescription Required!  You will be amazed at the well-being you receive from connecting with Nature for just a short time, whether it be on the cliff top, in a peaceful garden or park, anywhere will do so long as it is away from your usual surroundings and the distractions of everyday living.

As I write this I feel a pilgrimage inside me, yearning to escape into the wilds of Nature, to take me to a chosen but as of yet unknown place of refuge.  Often this refuge is unknown until you get there, you come to a place and it just feels right for you; your soul connects and you have arrived.  Spend some time there, it is meant to be.  My pilgrimage of life has already started, that feeling I have inside is the seed of connection germinating and soon the time will be right to seek out the refuge and fill my soul with the harmony of Mother Earth.  The great thing is that before I even step outside my front door, this feeling is healing and restoring body and soul.

Plant your own seeds right now and see where your pilgrimage of life takes You!

A message from the late John O’Donohue …

Inspiration Came From The Song Of Nature

Today is a typical early spring day here in Poole, gray sky, persistent drizzle with a chill in the air.  I had promised myself to get down to some serious writing but it’s one of those days when all you want to do is to shut the weather out and settle down with a good book, well that’s how I felt about it anyway.  I have been struggling to get focused and to put anything worthwhile or meaningful down on paper – or my laptop!

Whilst brewing yet another cup of caffeine I suddenly tuned into a sound I hadn’t previously noticed.  It came from outside, sounding like an angel giving me a message, I was mesmerized for a moment awakening full of inspiration.  I can still hear the sound now whilst writing this post, it’s beautiful, melodic and heart warming.  A song of nature filling my soul.

But who is the creator of this day brightening song, who has the gift to lift the mist of negativity shrouding me in idleness and melancholy?  The source of this enchanting, enlightening sound comes from nature and is a friend I see everyday, he shares my garden, he eats the seed I give him and he repays me with his song, but today it’s as if he knew I needed some help and is singing his heart out for me, going through his entire repertoire.

Who is this super star?

All is revealed in the video below, so join me in gaining inspiration from the sing of nature :-)   :-)

Connecting With Nature

With the winter months slowly fading away I decide it was time to connect with nature again and give myself and my garden an early springtime boost.  Connecting with nature has always been important to me and I have missed our chats for too long.

Before you start thinking that I’ve lost the plot, chatting with nature, let me explain ….

Daffodils In Sprintime

Connecting with nature is the same as connecting with your inner self, we all too often forget that we are a part of nature, made from the same components and relying on Mother Earth to be able to survive.  So when I’m connecting I feel at one with the bigger picture, at ease, happy, amazed and appreciative and it is whilst in this relaxed state that the conversation begins.  I usually do more listening than talking but more often than not unspoken questions get answered.

Today Mother Nature told me I am getting older and I can’t expect to do so many hard tasks all at once like I used to be able to do.  She told me to slow down, be patient and to take more time to appreciate things, nature will be there for me and you everyday of our lives, so find time every single day to connect with the beauty and wonder of our World.

Noticing all the new buds and growth appearing on the plants and shrubs reminded me that we are all continually experiencing new growth within ourselves and we need to nurture and feed that growth to enable it to blossom and bloom.  We need to feed ourselves with positive thoughts, acts of kindness and compassion and appreciation of everything we already have in our lives and more of all of these things will come to us as a gift from nature.

All of this comes to me whilst connecting with nature, having a quiet and peaceful mind can let you into the encyclopedia of life, why not give it a try.  Work or just sit in your garden for a short while everyday and see what sort of conversation you come up with, and if you haven’t got your own garden don’t worry as nature is all around you, just find somewhere quiet and peaceful (bird song is allowed) and chat away.  ;-)

Gateway Of Light

This video sums up my message to you brilliantly ….

Be In Harmony With Nature

If this Blog was about any one thing it would be about being in Harmony with Nature.  It is my strong belief that we as human guardians of this planet Earth that we spend such a short time on have done it a big disservice and it is now payback time.

Mother Earth is paying us back and it’s time we re-connected with Her and payed our dues.  The only way we can do this is by being in harmony with nature and respecting the gifts She allows us to take.  We have forgotten the lessons the people of the First Nations tried to give us, I say tried to give us because in most instances we annihilated both them, their culture and environment before they had a chance to teach us.  Instead we were consumed by greed, power and ignorance and that is what is still driving us towards self-destruction.

Fortunately there is an ever growing number of enlightened organizations, groups and individuals who are trying to repair the damage and guide others to do the same, with the goal of preserving the World for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.  If this Blog can inspire just one person to see the bigger picture and to do something towards bringing more Peace, Compassion, Harmony and Respect to and for planet Earth and it’s inhabitants I will have gone someway towards achieving my own personal goals.

If we can ALL learn to live sustainably instead of raping the Earth of it’s resources, depleting food stocks and stop polluting the land, sea and air we stand a fighting chance of success.  This short video explains much more eloquently and powerfully than I could ever hope to, the message I want to share with you.

Watch, Take Notice, Think and Take Action – Please!!

I think you will agree that we need to take action and we need to take it NOW, if not for our own sakes, for the sakes of generations to come and for the sake of Mother Nature herself.
